Reef compliance program

The Queensland Government is establishing a targeted compliance program to improve the health of the Great Barrier Reef. As part of the program, officers will work with farmers to help them meet their legislative obligations. Water quality research projects

The Great Barrier Reef and surrounding tropical waters will benefit from 25 innovative research projects conducted by the Australian Government's Tropical Water Quality Hub. The hub's research will improve understanding of issues such as cumulative impacts on water quality, crown-of-thorns starfish outbreaks and ways of reducing sediment loads and nitrogen runoff from agriculture.
