Reef Plan reports

The Reef Plan contains three priority areas and 11 actions. The responsibility for implementing these actions is shared by all Reef Plan partners - government agencies, industry groups, regional natural resource management (NRM) bodies, land managers , Indigenous organisations and community groups. The success of the Reef Plan will depend largely on the integration and co-ordination of activity by these partners.

The Reef Plan requires government agencies to provide their respective Ministers with annual reports on progress towards the goal and objectives of the Reef Plan.

Annual reports

The Reef Plan annual reports detail the highlights and challenges of implementing the Reef Plan.

Annual evaluation of the Reef Plan provides an analysis of the effectiveness of the actions that are implemented to stabilise and improve the quality of water entering the Reef and provide an opportunity to initiate improvements.

Prime Minister and Premier of Queensland Reports

The Reef Plan requires two formal evaluation reports following independent audits (one in 2005 and another in 2010) on progress relating to implementation.  These are to be provided by the Reef Plan Intergovernmental Steering Committee (ISC) to the Great Barrier Reef Ministerial Council.
