Stakeholders

Australian and Queensland Governments
The Reef Plan is a joint initiative of the Australian and Queensland Governments. The Reef Plan includes a range of actions for implementation by all levels of government.

Regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) Bodies
Regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) Bodies are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Government through the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT).

Peak Industry Bodies
Industry organisations play a critical role in encouraging their members to implement best management practices. These practices usually result in more efficient farming, which results in cost savings as well as good water quality outcomes.

Community groups
Community groups are an integral part of delivering Reef Plan. Groups such as Landcare, Bushcare, Coastcare, Rivercare and Catchment Management groups are important participants in a range of Reef Plan actions.

Indigenous groups
Reef Plan processes recognise that Indigenous people access and are involved in the management of land and sea country. Reef Plan partners will work with Indigenous groups such as land and sea management groups to help implement the strategies and actions within the Reef Plan.

Education and research institutes
Many educational and research institutions are helping directly and indirectly to implement Reef Plan.
