Regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) Bodies

Regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) Bodies are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Government through the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT).

There are five Regional NRM Bodies in Reef catchments. These are:

Burdekin Dry Tropics Board (non-government site)
Burnett Mary Regional Group (non-government site)
Fitzroy Basin Association (non-government site)
Mackay Whitsunday NRM (non-government site)
Terrain NRM (non-government site)

NRM bodies are responsible for developing NRM plans and investment strategies, within which Reef Plan actions are prioritised. Regional NRM bodies provide incentives and assistance to land managers, industry and other community groups to support in implementing the regional NRM plans through their investment strategies.
