Management Practices

A significant proportion of the agricultural industry has adopted individual improved land management practices since 2009 that will help reduce the amount of pollutants leaving the catchment and entering the reef. Progress towards the targets for grazing, sugarcane and horticulture up to June 2011 is detailed in the regional sections. Progress for the grains industry is reported for the Fitzroy region and progress for the dairy industry is reported at the Great Barrier Reef-wide scale. Information for the cotton industry is not currently available.
