Catchment pollutant loads

Changes in land management have translated into a reduction in the amount of key pollutants leaving the end of catchments, which will have a positive impact on the reef in the long term.

The pollutant loads at the end of the catchment come from modelling, validated by monitoring, to remove the effect of a variable climate from year to year.
